Henderson Land Investment Company was created in 1979 by Stephen and Lee Henderson. They operated out of their home on US Route 36 near Saint Paris where Lee hand painted each real estate sign. That year they took their 6 rural listings, three children, and Stephen’s field tile collection to the Champaign County Fair.

In 1982 the building at 104 South Springfield Street in Saint Paris became available and they purchased it. At the time interest rates were climbing and the real estate market was limping along. The people in Graham District were very supportive and they were on their way to becoming the full service Champaign County real estate company you now know.

It wasn’t until 1989 that Team Henderson took the plunge and decided to open a convenient location for their customers and clients in Urbana and on the east side of the county. Their first Urbana location was on Monument Square where Duncan’s Accounting Services are now located. From there, they moved to their second Urbana location at 970 East Route 36 sharing the building with Studio 36 owned by Susan and David Oelker. In 2004 they chose to open yet another office back in downtown Urbana at 122 Miami Street.

In 1996 Gina Roseberry joined their management team as their valuable office manager with her exceptional organizational and internet technology skills.

In 2007 they chose to do major improvements to their current location at 606 Scioto Street in Urbana. They have been pleased with the activity there.

In 2004, they also expanded Team Henderson to include several younger associates as well as an internet technology manager and a marketing manager. At Henderson Land Investment Company, they believe that choices are more fun. They invite you to choose one of the four locations (including their web site, and the annual fair office in the merchant’s building) and one of their fine Team Henderson associates to help you find either the perfect property or perfect buyer.
